For Importação Inteligente, by Rodrigo Giraldelli (Editora Gente Autoridade, 2024), I was granted complete creative freedom in designing the cover—and I took the opportunity to bring in some bold, personal touches. Because the book is about the business of importing—selecting products, negotiating with foreign suppliers, calculating costs, creating own brands and using importation as a growth strategy in saturated markets—I used a background texture inspired by cardboard shipping boxes, combined with iconographic elements drawn from my own repertoire, recalling retro videogame graphics. The idea was to merge the rugged materiality of shipping with playful, memorable symbols, giving the cover both commercial seriousness and a bit of visual surprise.
The content of the book emphasizes how small and medium-sized entrepreneurs can differentiate themselves by buying smarter, not simply by selling more, building their own brand, managing negotiation and import costs, and scaling the business through import strategies. My goal in the design was to reflect that balance: authority and hands-on practical guidance, but without losing warmth or personality. The cover needed to feel accessible, yet robust—something that signals credibility for business/finance readers while also standing out visually on the shelf and online.
